Check your hearing in Oconee County, South Carolina

Have you experienced a change in your hearing? Do you have tinnitusor buzzing in your ears? If so, we welcome you to schedule a hearing assessment with a hearing care professional in our Seneca office. You can also check your hearing online.

Do you know what to expect at your first appointment with HearingLife?

A hearing assessment is the first step to see if you have hearing loss. A licensed hearing care provider will inspect your ears and use various methods to check your hearing. You will sit in a comfortable soundproof room or sound booth and wear headphones. Then we will ask you to listen to and respond to various tones, speech sounds and voices.

Your responses will be recorded on an audiogram and the results will help indicate if you have hearing loss or not. We are happy to answer any questions and fully review your results with you. After that, we can discuss next steps.

Generally a hearing assessment and consultation takes less than an hour. Learn more about your hearing when you visit us.

Mark Selby

Hearing Aid Specialist Lic. #435

Mark Selby grew up in upstate South Carolina. He attended Pensacola Christian College for his bachelor’s degree and then completed his master’s degree at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. After completing his education, he moved to the Myrtle Beach area. Shortly thereafter, in 2002, he met an audiologist who saw his potential and invited him to come work at her private practice. He remembers being asked before taking that first job if he had a passion for helping hearing-impaired people. Looking back, it’s clear to see he does indeed have that passion—and along with it, he has gained a host of experience, knowledge, skills and empathy enabling him to be a great advocate for adults who are struggling to hear.

Mark met his wife, Stacey, while living on the coast, and they have been blessed with two children: Cooper and Reagan. Mark returned to the upstate in 2011. He is a big fan of the Clemson Tigers football team and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He enjoys playing volleyball and softball as well as playing games around the table with friends and family, who will tell you that he plays with a passion for doing his best. This competitive nature drives him to excellence when it comes to serving his customers. He wants to give each customer the best possible experience, starting when they first walk into the office, often a little hesitant and not knowing what to expect, and continuing through the years that follow on their journey to better hearing.
