Meet Germaine McKinney

Germaine is a young man that was born with a hearing loss. His hearing has continued to decrease over the years and he has not had access to sound for many years due to financial burdens. He has lost clarity in his speech. His hearing disability has limited his social and employment opportunities. Due to the pandemic, he lost his job working for the state of Michigan. He now struggles because of mask usage and desperately needing to read lips with his limited access to sound.

When Germaine experienced the Oticon More hearing aids, his eyes lit up and his face softened. He stated “I can finally hear!” Without the hearing aids in, he struggled to understand the conversation we were having. His mother was having to speak and fill in for him.

With the Give Back recipient award Germaine how now regained his hearing and is living a better quality of life.

Congrats, Germaine!
